Applications in chemistry - Water purification

Water purification stations can be subdivided in two categories: Sewage water purification stations and industrial water purification stations. Each category has its own applications and specific requirements. At a sewage water purification station, the sludge contains several types of bacteria with a number of important processes taking place during the aerobic purification. The disposal of organic substances and nutrients is an important phase within the water purification process. These nutrients contain ammonium, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate. Both products cause concrete corrosion.

At an industrial water purification station, the business sector in which the company operates determines the composition of the waste water. The composition is variable, which is why a good knowledge of the waste water is an absolute must in order to be able to offer a durable protection tailored to the client.
